The 2026 football season has mostly been a drag for Texas A&M, who are poking along with a 3-2 record and are 3 1/2-point underdogs as the visiting team at Missouri today. The game will begin on ABC at 11:00 AM, and the Aggies have historically done fairly well against this opponent, with an overall record of eleven wins vs. seven losses.
College Football News anticipates the home team will win 27-23 today unless Aggie quarterback Marcel Reed can improve significantly after his showings against Kentucky and LSU, both defeats.
I don't expect to be watching this game after halftime, unless the Aggies are ahead by at least two touchdowns when the third quarter begins.
Updated 12:44 Saturday: The score is 10-3 with Missouri ahead by a touchdown. A&M is playing fairly well on defense, but Marcel Reed is still ineffective on offense, and possibly, things could improve in the second half.
Final update 2:38 PM Saturday: This game was pathetic and wasted a few hours of my time. Texas A&M went 11-0 before finishing last season with disappointing losses to Texas U and Miami U. Today, Missouri dominated A&M with a 27-6 win. The Aggies were mediocre on offense and defense, and changes will need to be made if this team ever hopes to be respected again. When Missouri can maul them this badly, there will be more defeats suffered in future weeks. Numerous improvements at the quarterback position are necessary.
Additional PS Sunday 12:50 PM: Watching the Aggie football team being shoved around by Missouri in the early game yesterday was frustrating, so I considered an alternative: The Texas U longhorns were playing the Oklahoma U Sooners in a later game. Texas has been designated as the best (number one) college team in America, with Arch Manning as The Super Quarterback. Late yesterday afternoon, I turned on the TV to watch the fourth quarter of that SEC game, and the Sooners were ahead temporarily. Then the score was tied at 24-24, and Manning threw an interception that enabled OU to kick a long field goal with a few seconds remaining, and beat Texas U (27-24) without OT.
