Football 2015: Week 14

The big-time conference championship games were played today, and I saw bits and pieces of them. It makes me depressed to watch college teams that are well-coached and can play both offense and defense efficiently, unlike Texas A&M.

In the BDF, the strong horns (wrong horns) finished off Baylor's late season fade with a 23-17 win in Waco. The wrong horns are 5-7 with a loss to Iowa State and victories over Oklahoma and Baylor (9-3). There's no explanation.

The conference championships that were settled today:
  • Alabama (12-1) beat Florida (10-3) to win the SEC. The Tide was relentless, pounding out a 29-15 victory.
  • Stanford (11-2) beat Southern Cal (8-5) to capture the Pac-12 title, and was fairly dominant in a 41-22 win.
  • Clemson (13-0) stayed unbeaten with a win over North Carolina (11-2) in the ACC. This was a shootout, with Clemson coming out on top 45-37.
  • Michigan State (12-1) locked up the Big Ten, edging Iowa (12-1) in a typical 16-13 slug fest.
