Football 2013: Week Six

Texas A&M has an open date Saturday, and there aren't many TV games that get me enthusiastic. Four of A&M's future SEC West opponents pair off: Ole Miss is favored by a FG at Auburn, and LSU is a 9.5 point favorite at Mississippi State. I may be forced to fill my time with one or two of the Big 12 games on the tube.

Added 11:46 PM Saturday: I watched a movie tonight instead of football games. Six teams that Texas A&M plays in coming weeks were paired in three SEC games:
  • Auburn defeated Ole Miss 30-22
  • Missouri routed Vanderbilt 51-28
  • LSU stomped Mississippi State 59-26
Is Auburn better than I thought, or is Ole Miss not as good? Mississippi State scored 26 on LSU, indicating they can probably score more than that against A&M's less efficient defense. On the other hand, the 59 that LSU scored makes me think it may be hard for the Aggies to win a shootout in Baton Rouge. Offense wasn't supposed to be LSU's strength this year.
