Here we go again. College Football News predicts Texas A&M (favored by 13.5 points) will get past Auburn in another shootout, with the final score 45-38. Other TV games featuring SEC teams A&M will face later:
When the season started, I thought Florida might be one of the top SEC teams, and Missouri would still be in rebuilding mode. Missouri, upset winners last week, are a FG underdog at home, but CFN still forecasts them to edge the Gators 26-23.
Since A&M's defense is so unreliable, I'd prefer to see weakness in teams like Vanderbilt and Missouri, and not as much strength. I'll pull for the favorites (Georgia, Florida, and Texas A&M) to sweep.
Added 4:30 PM Saturday: Manziel to Evans for 42 yards. One play, one touchdown. The Aggies lead 24-17 at the half. Auburn has given A&M's defense all it can handle, and Manziel has thrown two interceptions, looking pretty average except when he's able to connect with Evans. Around the SEC, Vanderbilt beat Georgia 31-27, Missouri thrashed Florida 36-17, and Tennessee edged South Carolina 23-21. Another upset Saturday in progress in the SEC.
Added 6:35 PM Saturday: No miracles for Manziel today. He took a physical beating and wasn't able to overcome A&M's defensive weakness. Auburn wins 45-41. They used the same formula Alabama won with a few weeks ago: strong defense, strong running game, just enough big passing plays to keep the chains moving. For some reason, Manziel is a magician in road games, but all four of his losses have been at Kyle Field. The Aggies are now 5-2, and can't count on beating LSU and Missouri. Even Vanderbilt might rip this Aggie defense to pieces.
