Football 2010-Week Four

The top game this afternoon is Number 1 Alabama at Number 10 Arkansas on CBS. I've been looking foward to it all week since (a) it's an SEC game, (b) I have a rooting interest, and (c) the Aggies play the Razorbacks later this season. Last year, Arkansas mauled TAMU and the Tide knocked off the longhorns in the national championship game; the formula says I pull for Alabama in this one. Unfortunately, at halftime Arkansas is leading 17-7 and looking good while they're at it. The Aggies may be in deep shit when they meet in October, particularly if their FIU squeaker last weekend is any indication.

Meanwhile, over on ABC the UCLA Bruins are leading the longhorns 13-3 at the half, and that's in Austin. I only checked in to see the score, but apparently the horns have turned the ball over four times.

My ideal outcomes: Alabama comes from behind to win, and UCLA upsets the longhorns. I'll probably get screwed on both games, though.

Added 11:10 pm: Some days a light shines on even the worst sinner. As I hoped, Alabama did come from behind to knock off Arkansas 24-20. Better yet, UCLA kicked the horns in the knee in the first half, then kicked them in the groin in the second. Final score: 34-12. It's been a while since Texas stunk up the joint like that.

Added 1:28 pm, Sunday 26 September:  SWEET !
