Transition

The 2009 football season was a mixed bag for the Aggies, with one big highlight reel win over Texas Tech and seven discouraging losses, including a few of the blowout variety. The one aspect of the team that was somewhat consistent was the offense. Most of the time, the Aggies could score points, just not enough to overcome the onslaughts the defense was unable to prevent. If R.C. Slocum could've paired the 2009 offense with his early 1990s defenses, he'd have a few more high profile wins on his resume.

In retrospect, the Aggie O looked promising, leaving the D and special teams as the glaring areas of deficiency. So it figures that the offensive coordinator would be leaving for an NFL position. I don't really know how much credit Cromwell should get for A&M's ability to move the ball and score points, but I imagine he was as responsible as anyone else on the staff.
