I still haven't finished wading through all the op-ed detritus regarding the New Hampshire primary, but I've read enough to know the common themes have to do with Mrs. Clinton's calculating and scheming and Sen. Obama's inexplicable ability to attract idealistic voters despite having the substance of navel lint. The column by Maureen Dowd reprinted in the Austin AS is recommended as Exhibit 1.
The thing that tends to frustrate me is the willingness of the pundit class to pick apart Hillary Clinton's every word, emotion and gesture for clues to her evil intentions. In itself, not a problem. What IS a problem is that these same neeners have spent seven years watching another neener stare into a television camera and tell one damned lie after another, usually with that little lopsided grin that we've come to know and love, and not a word from them about his psychological motivations.
When it comes to unmitigated sociopathy and bad motives, Hillary will never come close to the birdbrain and little Dick. I'm not a big fan, but I have to admit it'd be worth four years of an HRC administration just to see the rightwingers driven even further into insanity.
