It doesn't seem possible that the college football season will start soon. I haven't seen the schedule lately, but if I recall correctly, Texas A&M will open with a home game against Kent State a week from tomorrow unless a public health crisis interferes, as it did in 2020.
It'll be a pleasure to shift my attention from politics (high stress level) to SEC football (manageable stress). The Aggies may be able to continue the success they achieved last year, when they looked like a formidable opponent in eight consecutive games.
This will be the first A&M team since the Sumlin era that won't feature starting quarterback Kellen Mond. It took Mond a long time to grow into the position, and his final season was the only time that games won because of him outnumbered games lost because of him. I hope the new quarterback develops more rapidly than Kellen did.
The latest political news is a drag since it's a constant reminder that in four years, Donnie Dump failed to do a single thing that made the United States a better place to live. Instead, everything he did made life in the U.S. worse for decent people.
Well, now. Apparently some of the dead end trump lumps who attacked the Capitol on 1/6 (and were subsequently arrested) are blaming Donnie Dump for making them do it with his inflammatory rhetoric. This might create hard feelings between the Dump and the lumps.
Money talks, and bullshit walks. No more free rides for the anti-vax morons. They won't listen to reason? Maybe a swift kick in the ass is in order.
