Last night we watched the 2007 movie Breach, with Chris Cooper playing former FBI agent Robert Hanssen, arrested for espionage in 2001 and sentenced to life in prison in 2002. It's an excellent spy story with a fine cast, but what made the movie most interesting to me was its reminder that not so long ago, helping the Russians for money was considered a serious crime in the United States.
See where we are now, with a Russian asset in the White House and a Republican Party that has no problems with it. Fucking unbelievable.
