Last week's blowout loss at home to Mississippi State looked a lot like the sort of Aggie game we're accustomed to seeing in November, at least since Johnny Manziel turned pro. This week, Texas A&M plays a much better opponent, and it really is November (not late October). Auburn is 6-2 and is ranked 14th, and comes to Kyle Field favored by 15 points. The game is on ESPN at 11:00 AM, so at least we'll get it over with early.
College Football News predicts Auburn will win 27-20, but I'll be surprised if the score's that close. Auburn blew out MSU, and MSU blew out A&M. Yeah, I know that comparative scores are meaningless, but I still believe Auburn is capable of beating the Aggies by more than one touchdown.
Update: With 20 seconds remaining in the first half, Auburn blocked an A&M punt for an instant touchdown and a 21-13 lead. Second update: Final score 42-27, which isn't quite as bad as I thought it might be. Replacing Mond with Starkel was probably worth at least 10 points in holding down the margin of defeat. More proof that the 2012 season had everything to do with Manziel, very little to do with Sumlin.
There aren't many games on TV that look interesting, but here are a few that might get my attention (depending on my level of boredom tomorrow), with CFN's predicted score:
