I went to Yahoo this afternoon to perform my weekly chore of deleting spam from the email account I use on Facebook. The Yahoo news headine was that Roger Ebert had finally been claimed by cancer at age seventy.
I didn't always agree with Ebert about which movies should be avoided, but I almost always agreed with him about the ones worth seeing. He was on a very short list of people whose recommendations I search out and respect. As long as I've had home internet access, I've never paid to see a movie in a theater without first checking Ebert's review in the Chicago Sun-Times. And I admire his skill as a writer. He had a great job and did it well.
And Limbaugh lives on.
