It wasn't a surprise that so many Texas preachers appeared at a rally on the steps of the Capitol to support passage of the so-called potty bill. It was surprising that so many of the preachers were black. Not too long ago, black people in Texas were the ones being told who they could marry and which bathrooms they could use. Or which water fountains they could drink from.
